IOWA CITY, Iowa – For a second straight season, the University of Iowa men’s basketball team will play at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines, facing Creighton in a neutral site game on Sunday, Nov. 15. The announcement was made Thursday by Global Sports Management.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday, June 1, at 10 a.m. (CT) exclusively via hyveetix.com. The start time will be announced at a later date.
“We’re excited to bring our team to Des Moines for a second straight year,” said Iowa head coach Ben McCollum, who led the Hawkeyes to the Elite Eight – a first for the program since 1987 — in his first season in Iowa City. “It’s important to showcase our team to our fans in the metro to continue to build momentum and excitement for our program across the state.
“This season’s game will be a great opportunity to play a strong Creighton program on a neutral court at the Casey’s Center. It will be exciting for our players and everyone involved to have two Power Conference teams meet in an early-season matchup. I’m looking forward to an incredible atmosphere.”
The Hawkeyes have won eight of their last nine games at the Casey’s Center since 2013. Iowa handled Bucknell, winning 94-39 on Dec. 20, 2025.
Creighton is one of 11 schools to have made the postseason in each of the last 10 seasons. The Bluejays advanced to the semifinal round of the College Basketball Crown tournament in Las Vegas last season.
The Bluejays, who finished 16-18 overall in the 2025-26 campaign, will have a first-year head coach in Alan Huss, who was named the 17th head coach in Creighton history on March 25. He took the reigns following the retirement of long-time head coach Greg McDermott.
The meeting will be the 27th in the all-time series between Iowa and Creighton and the first since 2023 – a 92-84 Bluejay victory in Omaha. The Hawkeyes lead the all-time series, 14-12, and it will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools in Des Moines.
