Kristian Chadick Reflects on Iowa Offer
Hawkeyes In Early with Rising '28 DL
Kristian Chadick is a prospect on the rise. Iowa Football decided to get on board early on June 1, when the 2028 Illinois defensive lineman reported a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes.
Iowa has had the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Mundelein (IL) Carmel Catholic junior-to-be at a camp. He’s begun building a relationship with the Big Ten program.
“Some reasons why I would consider Iowa are because of its strong football tradition, as well as its great academics,” Chadick said.
Northwestern offered a scholarship Sunday, when he was on campus. He’d visited the Wildcats for a spring practice. Chadick camped at Clemson last Friday.
Chadick’s projectable frame and athleticism give him a chance to reach a considerable ceiling. He’s working to take another step forward in the fall after a sophomore season of 2025 that saw him deliver 15 solo tackles, nine tackles for loss and five sacks in eight games.
With his recruitment picking up, Chadick is zeroing in on what he wants from a prospective college.
“The most important thing for me when I’m looking for a school is its culture and atmosphere. I would much rather go to a school where it is a little laid back and fun, while still being able to have great athletics and academics,” he said.
The academic offerings will be a key consideration in the final decision.
“I am still unsure what I would like to study in college. Most likely something in Business or Science,” Chadick said.
The Hawkeyes will be looking to get Chadick back on campus for a summer tailgate or a game at Kinnick Stadium in the fall.
“I will most likely visit Iowa, but I do not know when that will be,” he said.
