Three-star 2017 WR Eric Rooks hopeful for Iowa offer
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Chicago native Eric Rooks is very fond of the Iowa football program.
The three-star receiver would like the Hawkeyes even more if he were to receive a scholarship offer.
"(An offer from Iowa) would mean the world to me,” Rooks said Thursday. “It is a very good possibility (that they would become my favorite).”
Rooks saw the Iowa program up close while taking an unofficial visit to Iowa City this past weekend. He attended the spring game last Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.
“I loved everything about it,” Rooks said. “There definitely is a possibility of me going there.”
Rooks also reportedly has scholarship offers from Kansas, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo, Ball State, Bowling Green and New Mexico.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder is listed as a receiver, but Rooks said there is a possibility he could play tight end in college.
Rooks doesn’t have any other visits lined up at this point. He plans to attend several camps this spring and summer in order to get more exposure.
He also isn’t sure about when he wants to make a decision.
“Maybe this summer or a little bit going into this season,” Rooks said.
