ADDISON, Ill. – Darien (IL) Hinsdale South High junior Joshua King has an impressive list of college programs seeking his services. The wiry defensive end showed off his skill set Sunday at The Opening Chicago Regional here at Addison Trail High.

Here’s what I saw: There’s no doubting King’s immense athletic upside. A state wrestling champion, he’s still raw on the football field. While the ceiling his sky high, there’s a lot of room for development here. King relies almost solely on his speed off the edge. And it’s impressive that it’s enough to do very well against several high-end O-linemen at The Opening. Other times, he struggles against stronger blockers who can ride him around the pocket. For Iowa fans, he reminds me of Matt Nelson as a prep.
