IOWA CITY, Iowa –
Each week, All Hawkeyes publishers Pat Harty and Rob Howe will pick five college football games and add witty comments. In the future, we may invite celebrity guests join us. If you know any, have them look us up.

Here are this week’s games:

Rob Howe

Iowa State 24, Iowa 20: The loss will hurt but pales in comparison to the Tyler Sash news earlier in the week.

Michigan State 27, Oregon 21: Sash’s interception and lateral to Micah Hyde for a touchdown against the Spartans is a favorite play of Hawkeye fans.

Tennessee 38, Oklahoma 24: Had he not left early for the NFL, Sash would have faced the Sooners in the 2011 Insight Bowl. Instead, he won a Super Bowl as a rookie with the New York Giants.

Mississippi State 17, LSU 13: Sash was the starting strong safety in the 2008 Outback Bowl, where the Hawkeyes defeated South Carolina of the SEC.

Brigham Young 41, Boise State 38: Both of these teams would have better defenses with Sash in the secondary.

Last week: 5-0
Overall: 5-0

Pat Harty
Iowa State 27, Iowa 24:
It just doesn’t feel right making a snarky comment about this game in light of the tragedy that occurred this week.

Michigan State 28, Oregon 24: Iowa finished 2-1 against Michigan State in games in which Tyler Sash started at strong safety for the Hawkeyes.

Tennessee 31, Oklahoma 30: Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops always will share a place with Tyler Sash as two of the best safeties in the history of the Iowa football program.

Mississippi State 21, LSU 18: Mississippi State scores the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter when one of its defensive backs intercepts a pass and laterals to a teammate, who then returns it 60 yards for a touchdown.

Boise State 38 Brigham Young 31: This game will be vintage Tyler Sash with both teams making one big play after another.
Last week: 4-1
Overall: 4-1
