Wednesday’s podcast features Jess Settles breaking down Iowa’s NCAA Tournament chances
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Former Iowa basketball player Jess Settles is now making a name for himself as a talented studio analyst for the Big Ten Network.
Settles was the guest on Wednesday’s podcast and he delivered like always, including giving his insight on Iowa’s chances of advancing in the NCAA Tournament.
Iowa is a No. 7 seed and will face No. 10 seed Temple in the first round on Friday in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Settles said senior guards Anthony Clemmons and Mike Gesell will play pivotal roles, either good or bad, because NCAA Tournament games often are decided by guard play. Settles thinks the Hawkeyes have the potential to reach the NCAA Sweet 16, but only if Clemmons and Gesell both play well.
Settles was a member of the last Iowa team to advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1999.
