AH-TV: Iowa players react to another NCAA second-round drubbing
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The atmosphere inside the Iowa locker room on Sunday was a drastic change from two days earlier.
Instead of celebrating a victory as they did on Thursday, the Iowa players were dealing with the sobering reality that their season is over after Sunday’s 87-68 loss to Villanova in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
This marks the the second year in a row that Iowa has lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament by the same score. Gonzaga defeated Iowa 87-68 in the second round last season.
Iowa advanced to Sunday’s second-round game by defeating Temple 72-70 in overtime on Thursday.
