AH-TV: Kirk Ferentz, Iowa players talk after Friday’s open practice in WDM
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – It sure felt like football weather on Friday as the Iowa football team held an open practice at chilly and windy Valley Stadium.
Fans got their first glimpse of the 2016 Iowa football team during a two-hour practice under the lights. It marked the first time that Iowa has held an open practice at night at Valley Stadium.
Fans started arriving at Valley Stadium more than an hour before the event started. One of the highlights of the event was an autograph session in which kids were allowed to take the field and mingle with their favorite players.
Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard and All-America defensive back Desmond King, as expected, drew the most autograph seekers.
Here are several video interviews with Iowa players, including King, that occurred after Friday’s practice.
There also is a video with Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz, who met with the media after Friday’s practice. Ferentz addressed a number of topics, including the latest on Drew Ott’s situation. Ferentz also responded favorably to the NCAA’s decision to shut down satellite camps effective immediately.
