AH TV: Tom Brands, Iowa wrestlers look ahead to Iowa City Duals
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa wrestling team's season gets underway on Friday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa is coming off a season in which it finished 13-2 and placed third in the Big Ten tournament and fourth at the national duals.
Iowa also lost five All-Americans, including 133-pound national champion Cory Clark and Big Ten champions Thomas Gilman and Sammy Brooks.
All-Americans Brandon Sorensen and Michael Kemerer return for Iowa at 149 pounds and 157 pounds respectively.
Iowa also returns NCAA championship qualifiers Joey Gunther and Cash Wilcke, as well as heavyweight Sam Stoll who missed most of last season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The Hawkeyes will face Iowa Central, Buffalo and North Dakota State on Friday.
