Three-star running back Tyler Goodson commits to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The month of June was kind to the Iowa football program with regard to recruiting.
Three-star running back Tyler Goodson got July off to a good start after announcing his commitment to Iowa on Tuesday.
The Suwanee, Ga. native announced his commitment via Twitter.
It is the third consecutive year that Iowa has received a commitment from a Georgia native. Defensive back Trey Creamer was part of the 2017 class and linebacker Jayden McDonald was part of the 2018 class.
Goodson and McDonald are both natives of Suwanee and attended the same high school, North Gwinnett.
The 5-foot-10, 192-pound Goodson is the first running back in Iowa's 2019 class.
It had long been rumored that Goodson would choose Iowa after the relationship between Iowa and four-star running back Jirehl Brock reportedly broke down.
Brock, a native of Quincy, Ill., had Iowa among his top five schools but a scholarship offer from Notre Dame in June is rumored to have changed that.
Goodson chose Iowa over more than 30 scholarship offers including Boston College, Central Florida, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan State, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Washington State and West Virginia.
