HF podcast: Iowa pitching coach Robin Lund talks about series win at Michigan and more
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa baseball team opened Big Ten play with an impressive series win at Michigan this past weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Iowa was the beneficiary of strong starting pitching in all three games, and Iowa also outscored the Wolverines 18-7 while winning two of the three games.
Ty Langenberg earned the win on Sunday, finishing with a career-high 11 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings.
Fellow starting pitchers Dylan Nedved and Adam Mazur also pitched well in this past Saturday’s doubleheader.
Iowa pitching coach Robin Lund was the guest on Monday’s Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast. He talked about what led to the success at Michigan, and about how the Iowa pitchers have overcome control problems that plagued the staff earlier in the season.
Lund also talked about heralded freshmen pitchers Brody Brecht and Marcus Morgan and how they’re both handling the transition from high school to college.
