Postgame after a picture perfect performance from Hawkeyes in 24-3 win over Purdue
By Dallas Jones
IOWA CITY, IA – Last week was a breath of fresh air for the Iowa Hawkeye offense and the fans. That momentum carried over to West Lafayette, as they put together their most complete performance of the season against the Purdue Boilermakers.
Spencer Petras threw for almost 200 yards and two touchdowns, but the highlight was true Freshman Kaleb Johnson rushing for 200 yards on 22 carries.
Johnson is the first Hawkeye to rush for 200 since Akrum Wadley in a win against Northwestern in 2015.
The defense also held a very good Purdue offense to only three total points. Including an interception to Kaevon Merryweather on a pass that flew through the hands of former Hawkeye Tyrone Tracy.
Check out what Kirk Ferentz, Kaleb Johnson, Riley Moss and more had to say postgame here (I apologize in advance for the audio, windy conditions affected the on field action and postgame):
