2023 Florida receiver commits to Iowa
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team needs help at receiver and Flordia native Jarriett Buie wants to take advantage of that opportunity.
Buie, who attends Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida, announced his commitment to Iowa via Twitter Saturday night.
He is the second receiver to commit to Iowa’s 2023 recruiting class, along with Alex Mota from Marion.
Buie is ranked as a three-star recruit by Rivals and the 6-foot-3, 188-pounder reportedly has at least 11 scholarship offers from schools that include Iowa State, Boston College and Duke.
Buie is the 20th player to commit to Iowa’s 2023 recruiting class.
He made his decision after having visited Iowa in late October.
Iowa has been hurt by a lack of depth at receiver this season, caused mostly by injuries and attrition.
Iowa only has six scholarship receivers on the current roster, including sophomore Keagan Johnson, who has played briefly in just one game this season.
Sophomore receiver Arland Bruce also missed the Wisconsin game on Saturday due to an injury.
