Caitlin Clark, Gabbie Marshall named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Two Iowa women’s basketball student-athletes have been tabbed College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honorees, the association announced on Tuesday.

Caitlin Clark and Gabbie Marshall earned Academic All-District recognition. To be eligible for the award, nominees must have a 3.50 GPA and completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Nominees must also be a starter or important reserve to the team and participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

In her third season at Iowa, Clark is working towards her bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Marshall is working towards a degree in Health and Human Physiology. Both have made Iowa’s Dean’s List three times.

On the court, Clark is the only player in America averaging better than 25.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. In 14 games this season, she has recorded at least 25 points, five assists, five rebounds which leads the nation.

Marshall is averaging 4.5 ppg, 1.7 rpg, and has totaled 41 steals which is second-best on the team. Over the last five games, Marshall is 7-of-9 from 3-point range helping Iowa to its No. 6 ranking nationally.

Clark and Marshall have both started all 27 games for the Hawkeyes this season.

Both the student-athletes on the all-district team advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America teams will be announced on March 15.
