Video: Postgame comments after Iowa survives in Ames with 20-13 victory
By Dallas Jones
AMES, IOWA – Last years Cy-Hawk game left much to be desired for both fan bases. A 10-7 Cyclone victory in the rain left Hawkeye fans shocked as the loss was the first to the Cyclones since 2014. Today, the Hawkeyes got their revenge and secured Head Coach Kirk Ferentz his 200th career win.
After the Cyclones looked poised in their first drive of the game, Logan Lee blocked a field goal attempt and drained any momentum the Cyclones had this afternoon.
Sophomore Jaziun Patterson secured a 59-yard run and his first collegiate touchdown in the first half, sparking a Hawkeye rushing attack that was average at best against Utah State last weekend.
Another first half highlight came from Sebastian Castro as he returned a interception 30 yards to the house right after Cade McNamara threw his first pick as a Hawkeye.
After the game, we heard from Patterson, Castro, and other players as well as Head Coach Kirk Ferentz. Check out what they had to say here:
