IOWA CITY, Iowa – Former Iowa guard Callie Levin will stay instate to resume her college basketball career.
The Solon native announced Friday on social media that she has committed to Northern Iowa.
“There’s nothing better than playing in front of my home state fans and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Levin posted on her X account. “Thank you to the @UNIwbb coaches and staff for this amazing opportunity.”

The 5-foot-9 Levin was a fan favorite at Iowa, partly because her energy and her enthusiasm, and because she grew up nearby wanting to be a Hawkeye.
But she struggled to find playing time over two seasons, appearing in 19 of 34 game this past season and averaging 1.2 points per game.
Levin is one of five Iowa players to enter the transfer portal since the season ended. The others are freshman guard Addie Deal, a former five-star recruit, guard Kennise Johnson, and guard/forwards Emely Rodriguez and Teagan Mallegni.
Levin came to Iowa in 2024 as part of a five-player recruiting class.
Now all that remains from that class is center Ava Heiden and guard Taylor Stremlow, both of whom will be juniors next season.
Guard/forward Teagan Mallegni and point guard Aaliyah Guyton were also part of the 2024 recruiting class. Mallegni recently entered the transfer portal after battling injury and illness and playing sparingly for Iowa this past season, while Guyton transferred to Illinois after her freshman season.
