IOWA CITY,  Iowa – Former North Carolina guard Kyan Evans, according to his Instagram account, arrived in Iowa City on Wednesday to check out the Iowa men’s basketball program.

He also visited Minnesota on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2 Evans, who is from Kansas City, Missouri, averaged 4.0 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists while appearing in 33 games for the Tar Heels this past season.

He shot 32.8 percent from the field and 30.5 percent from 3-point range.

Evans played at Colorado State as a freshman and sophomore under Nico Medved, who just finished his first season as the Minnesota head coach.

Evans averaged 10.6 points per game as a sophomore at Colorado State in 2024-25.

Ben McCollum also just finished his first season as the Iowa head coach, leading the Hawkeyes to NCAA Elite Eight for the first time since 1987.

McCollum has to replace All-Big Ten point guard Bennett Stirtz, who exhausted his eligibility this past season.

Iowa is also reportedly preparing to host former Washington State guard Ace Glass on a visit.
