Former Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting commits to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa women’s basketball head coach Jan Jensen continues to restock her backcourt after losing five players to the transfer portal since the end of the 2025-26 season.
The latest addition is Amari Whiting, a 5-foot-10 guard who played for Oklahoma State this past season, and for Brigham Young as a freshman and sophomore.
The Burley, Idaho native announced her commitment to Iowa on Wednesday, and less than a week after former Georgia guard Dani Carnegie also committed to Iowa.
Whiting averaged 9.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game for Oklahoma State this past season. She also shot 42.1 percent from the field, and 32.1 percent from 3-point range.
She also had three double-doubles in scoring and rebounding this past season, and she scored in double figures in 17 games.
For BYU, Whiting averaged 10.3 points per game as a sophomore and 10.6 points per game as a freshman.
She has one season of eligibility.
