Jayden Evans Talks Hawkeye Offer
Iowa In On '28 MI DB
Iowa Football’s history of success recruiting Michigan defensive backs is well known. Desmond King is the most famous program alumnus from that state at the position, but the list includes 2025 Hawkeye captain Koen Entringer and fellow secondary starter Deshaun Lee. Jaylen Watson, Marcelo Vitti, Ronnie Hill and Ty Hudkins are Michiganders on this season’s roster.
It makes sense that Iowa would continue searching Michigan for players in the secondary. Jayden Evans is a target in the 2028 Class.
The Hawkeyes offered the Harper Woods (MI) High junior-to-be on May 14. For obvious reasons, the opportunity caught his attention.
“The reason I would consider Iowa is the development from the DB (defensive back) stand point,” Evans said.
The opportunity led to intrigue about what else Iowa offers as a university and program. He intends to find out more.
“I do plan to visit Iowa, but I don’t know when,” Evans said.
The competition for his commitment will be stiff, to say the least. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety reports offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon, Texas A&M, Missouri, Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas, Illinois, Colorado, Wake Forest and others.
“What I think is the most important when looking for a school is the relationship between me and the coaches,” he said.
Prep Redzone ranks Evans as the No. 1 defensive back in Michigan’s 2028 Class. The scouting service views him as the state’s eighth best player overall in the cycle.
