2027 Ohio DL Bariyus Allen commits to Hawkeye Football

IOWA CITY, Iowa – A defensive lineman from Ohio is the latest player to commit to the Iowa football team’s 2027 recruiting class.
Bariyus Allen, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound native of Dayton, Ohio, visited Iowa over this weekend and then announced his commitment Sunday on social media.
He picked Iowa over reported scholarship offers from Boston College, Western Kentucky, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Ohio and Toledo.
“Very good sized defensive lineman who can also play offensive tackle,” veteran recruiting analyst Tom Lemming said of Allen. “Great first step, dominates against the run, gets good leverage and plays hard until the whistle.”
Allen is the 11th player to commit to Iowa’s 2027 class and the third defensive lineman, joining fellow three-star prospects Tommy Riordan an Jerrence Knoblock.
Allen is coming off a junior season in which he recorded 73 tackles, including 20.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks.
He was also named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Dayton Public Schools.
