IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa men’s basketball coach Ben McCollum and seven of his players met with the media after practice on Wednesday.

McCollum led Iowa to the NCAA Elite Eight for the first time since 1987 in his first season as head coach.

Ten players return from that team, but that doesn’t include start point guard Bennett Stirtz, who has moved on to the NBA.

McCollum talked about the challenge of moving on without Stirtz, while also addressing other topics.

Sophomore point guard Ty’Reek Coleman, who transferred from Illinois State this summer, was among the seven players that met with the media on Wednesday.
