Iowa women’s hoops will participate in Nike Basketball Iowa Takeover in downtown Iowa City on Friday

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s basketball team will participate in the Nike Basketball Nothing Special to See Here* Iowa Takeover in downtown Iowa City on Friday from 5-6:30 p.m.
The event will take place on the Nike Basketball Court located near Clinton Street and Iowa Avenue where the Hawkeyes will be introduced at approximately 5:15 p.m. before participating in a series of basketball activities, including a hot-shot shooting challenge, knockout, a 3-point contest and a half-court shooting contest.
P. Sue Beckwith, MD, Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jan Jensen and members of the team will conclude the appearance with a question-and-answer session beginning at approximately 6:05 p.m.
Friday’s event is part of a busy weekend in Iowa City, as ESPN’s College GameDay returns to campus for the first time in 20 years ahead of Saturday’s top-15 matchup between No. 14 Iowa and No. 5 Ohio State at Kinnick Stadium. College GameDay will air live from 8-11 a.m. (CT) Saturday.
The Hawkeyes are entering their third season under Jensen after finishing the 2025-26 campaign with 27 wins, including 15 Big Ten victories. Iowa earned its eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and extended its streak to 10 straight 20-win seasons.
