Iowa receives verbal commitment from 2024 3-star Florida quarterback
IOWA CITY, Iowa – This weekend wasn’t a total loss for the Iowa football team.
Iowa picked up a verbal commitment from 2024 3-star quarterback James Resar, who is from Jacksonville, Fla.
Resar announced his commitment on Twitter Sunday morning and less than 24 hours after Iowa was defeated by Iowa State 10-7 at Kinnick Stadium.
The 6-foot-4, 204-pound Resar picked Iowa over reported scholarship offers from Indiana, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern and Toledo.
Resar is the fifth player to commit to Iowa’s 2024 recruiting and the first player from out of state to commit to the class.
Resar is the second high school quarterback to commit to Iowa, joining 2023 4-star prospect Marco Lainez, who is from New Jersey.
Resar and Lainez are both described as pro-style quarterbacks.
