Rob Booker II Picks Up Iowa Football Offer
WI TE Speaks About Hawkeye Visit
Rob Booker II is a fast-rising prospect in the 2024 Class. The Waunakee (WI) High tight end is adding scholarship offers at a crisp rate.
Iowa State, Minnesota, Kansas, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin extended opportunities since the middle of September. Iowa did the same on Saturday during his unofficial visit to campus.
“It was exciting to get the offer because my former football and basketball teammate, Jack Dotzler, is currently on the roster, and I know how much he loves it there. Also, their tight end culture is amazing,” Booker told HF.
Dotzler joined Iowa as a member of the 2022 recruiting class as an offensive lineman.
Booker (6-6, 215) received his first look at campus and liked what he saw.
“I really enjoyed everything about the visit. The staff there is great, the game atmosphere was great and the campus itself is really cool,” he said.
247Sports ranks Booker as a three-star prospect, the No. 28 tight end nationally for ’24 and the No. 7 overall player in Wisconsin for the cycle.
“(The Iowa coaches) like my frame, athleticism, high ceiling and that I have a very translatable game from high school to the college level,” he said.
He sees himself working well in the Hawkeye attack.
“I think I’d be a good fit in the offense because the tight ends at Iowa do a little bit of everything. I feel like I can adapt to an offense that utilizes their tight ends in a versatile way,” Booker said.
Through his first 10 games this fall, Booker caught 16 passes for 250 yards and six touchdowns on an unbeaten team.
