Graduate transfer OL Rusty Feth commits to Iowa
Made second-team all-conference for Miami (Ohio) last season
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team returns all five starters on the offensive line, but that hasn’t stopped Kirk Ferentz and his coaching staff from looking for more help in the transfer portal.
Iowa received a verbal commitment from offensive lineman Rusty Feth, who is a graduate transfer after having played the past four seasons at Miami (Ohio).
Feth visited the Iowa campus this weekend and announced his commitment to Iowa Sunday on Twitter.
He had been in the transfer portal for less than a week.
Feth is the second graduate transfer offensive lineman to join Iowa via the portal, along with Daijon Parker, who played the past three seasons at Saginaw State College in Michigan.
Even with all the experience returning, it could be argued that Iowa needs help on the offensive line based on the group’s performance this past season when Iowa struggled with both run and pass blocking.
The 6-foot-5, 304-pound Feth, who is from Colerain, Ohio made second-team All-Mid-American Conference this past season as a center, He also started all 13 games during the 2021 season, shifting from right guard to center.
