IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team continues to use the transfer portal to help with the challenge of having to replace all four starters on the defensive line, and a top reserve.
Northern Illinois defensive end Lance Ingold announced Thursday on social media that he has committed to Iowa.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound Ingold finished with 17 tackles and 1.5 sacks this season.
He has three seasons of eligibility.
Iowa has added three defensive linemen since the portal opened on Jan. 2; the others being former Holy Cross three-year starter Brice Stevenson and former Elon defensive end Kahmari Brown, who finished with 99 total tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles in the last two seasons.
Iowa had one of the most experienced defensive lines in the Big Ten this season with seniors Ethan Hurkett and Max Llewellyn starting at defensive end, and with seniors Aaron Graves and Jonah Pace starting at defensive tackle
Key reserve Brian Allen, who plays defensive end, also has entered the transfer portal with one season of eligibility remaining.
