Grayson Tidd Talks Iowa Offers
'28 MI DB Planning Hawkeye Visit
Iowa Football has found success when recruiting Michigan. Much of that history includes guys that grew up in the Detroit area and eastern side of the state.
The Hawkeyes have expanded their zone in the 2028 Class. On may 12, they offered a scholarship to Grand Rapids Catholic Central Athlete Grayson Tidd, who they like as a defensive back. Michigan has been good to Iowa in the secondary.
Tidd (6-1, 190) also reports scholarship offers from Kansas, Western Michigan, Boston College, Miami (Ohio), Kent State and Toledo. He visited Michigan State and Wisconsin in April.
Iowa’s reputation as one of the country’s top defensive units has Tidd’s attention. He desires a closer look at what makes the Hawkeyes tick and to find out if they’re the right fit for him.
“I am gonna go visit this summer for an unofficial visit and camp day,” he said. “I am hoping to learn and see how the players and coaches communicate, and hopefully get a look at their defensive scheme.”
When visiting colleges, Tidd has in mind what he would most like to find.
“I would say the most important thing for me would have to be the atmosphere. It has to feel like I belong there and like family, for sure,” he said.
And academics will play an important role in the final decision.
“I want to go study Business Marketing/Finance,” he said.
Prep Redzone ranks Tidd as the No. 5 defensive back in Michigan’s 2028 Class. The service sees him as the state’s 24th-best player overall for the cycle.
