IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team has landed its quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class.
Carson May, a native of Jones, Okla., announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Tuesday less than 24 hours after announcing he had received a scholarship offer from Iowa.
“(Iowa) was just the perfect fit for me,” May said. “(Quarterbacks) coach (Ken) O’Keefe was a guy I was really impressed with and said I could be one of the greats at Iowa and go on to the next level. It feels amazing.”
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound May chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Old Dominion and Western Michigan, according to Rivals.com.
May is the sixth player overall to verbally commit to Iowa’s 2022 recruiting class.
Four of Iowa’s six verbal commits have come since the NCAA lifted in-person recruiting restrictions on June 1.
