IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team’s 2025 schedule is now set.
Iowa will face Albany, Iowa State and Massachusetts in the non conference schedule, with Albany the season opener on Aug. 30th, 2025 at Kinnick Stadium.
Iowa will play five Big Ten games at home against Indiana, Penn State, Minnesota, Oregon and Michigan State and four on the road against Rutgers, Wisconsin, USC and Nebraska.
Three of Iowa’s 2025 Big Ten opponents – Indiana, Penn State and Oregon – are among the 12 teams in this year’s college playoff.
Kirk Ferentz is nearing the end of his 26th season as the Iowa head coach.
Iowa finished the 2024 regular season with an 8-4 record and will face Missouri in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30th in Nashville, Tennessee.
Kirk Ferentz has 204 career wins and he would tie the legendary Woody Hayes for first all time in Big Ten history with his next win.
If it weren’t to happen in the Music City Bowl, it would likely happen in the 2025 season opener against Albany, a game in which Iowa should be heavily favored.
Select dates are subject to change once the Big Ten and its media partners agree to the Friday night schedule. Game times and broadcast information for the first three games will be announced the last week of May 2025.
